Modi in Oman: PM offers prayers at Shiva temple, visits Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat

PM Mod on Monday concluded his UAE visit by offering prayers at Muscat's Shiva temple and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited 125-year-old Shiva Temple in Muscat. The temple, located right next to Sultan's Palace, was built by Gujarati merchants. It is one of the oldest temples of the region. 
"PM Modi performed Abhishekam at the historic Lord Shiva temple at Muscat and interacted with the members of the Temple Management Committee. It was constructed 125 years back by the Merchant Community from Gujarat and renovated in 1999," tweeted MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar. 
PM Modi also offered prayers at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque after the temple. 
"Yet another Indian connection with Oman! PM @narendramodi visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, which is the biggest mosque in Oman. The mosque is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone sculpted by 200 craftsmen from India!," Kumar tweeted after mosque visit.

Yet another Indian connection with Oman! PM @narendramodi visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, which is the biggest mosque in Oman. The mosque is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone sculpted by 200 craftsmen from India!
On the last day of his three-nation tour, PM Modi met with Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al-Said and discussed intensification of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The prime minister also attended a meeting with business leaders of Gulf and West Asia at Oman-India Business Meet in Muscat.

In his meeting with Deputy PM for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs of Oman, HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, PM @narendramodi discussed intensification of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

PM @narendramodi held talks with HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.
PM Modi is expected to head back to India shortly.
